Rapidly up ‘n’ coming embroidery artist James Merry—well known for his work with Björk, as both an assistant and collaborator—has joined forces with UK fashion website SHOWstudio to support the Protect The Park campaign.
The campaign aims to apply pressure to those in power to conserve Iceland’s vast areas of unspoiled highland wilderness, which are under threat of industrial development, if current plans should go ahead.
In order to help fund Protect The Park’s efforts—covering the costs of valuable research, communication to the public, and active lobbying—Merry will embroider flora from the areas under threat onto clothes donated by stars including Kate Moss and Björk, and designers such as Astrid Anderson and Kim Jones.
