Iceland’s Search and Rescue team was called out to Sólheimajökull Glacier late yesterday to help a group of eight lost hikers, reports Vísir.
According to the Icelandic Association of Search and Rescue time got away from the hikers and as a result they were unable to find their way back down.
Rescue workers from Vík, Hvolsvöllur and Heimaland have now been deployed and hope to find the hikers as soon as possible.
