Iceland has beaten Great Britain in their first EuroBasket 2015 qualifier 83-70 in Reykjavík, reports the BBC.
Iceland used a 15-2 burst in the final frame to pull away from Great Britain and pick up an 83-70 win at home, in the game that concluded Day 1 action in the EuroBasket 2015 2nd Qualifying Round.
Great Britain had managed to fight back from 16 points down to lead the match in the third quarter, but were out-played by Icelanders in the final 10 minutes.
Haukur Pálsson was hailed as best performer of the match finishing with 24 points, nine rebounds and four assists.
