Support for the ruling coalition of the Independence Party and the Progressives has dropped by about 5% in only the past month alone.
According to the latest Gallup poll, Vísir reports, 37% of those who took part said they support the ruling coalition. Most movements of support have been slight, but telling.
Support for the Progressive Party, the party leading the government, decreased by 2% over the past month, and is now at 13%. At the same time, support for Bright Future increased by 2%, to 13%.
Apart from this, support for the other parties remained relatively unchanged. About 24% said they would vote for the Independence Party if elections were held today, whilst 17% said the same of the Social Democrats. About 12% would vote for the Left-Greens if elections were held now, and 9% would choose the Pirates.
7% chose a party currently not occupying a seat in parliament, 11% said they would submit a blank ballot or not vote, and 10% had no opinion or would not disclose their party affiliation.
