Össur, the Icelandic prosthetic company that produces the blades used by Oscar Pistorius has dropped its sponsorship of the paralympian who is currently being tried for the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, reportsBloomberg.
“It’s up to the courts of South Africa to rule in this matter,” Sveinn Sölvason, Össur’s chief financial officer, told Bloomberg. “We, as Össur, don’t have any official stand in this matter on whether the man is innocent or guilty. But we’re no longer sponsoring Oscar Pistorius.”
Össur is not the first sponsor to drop Pistorius, the charges have cost him sponsorship deals with Nike and Luxottica Group SpA’s Oakley.
