Úlfur Alexander Einarsson is the guitarist in Útidúr and the mainstay of Oyama, as well as being involved in bands like KLIKK, Fist Fokkers and Swords of Chaos. We asked him to name five bands he’s particularly looking forward to at Airwaves 2013.
Mac Demarco
I really like Mac Demarco and his laid-back, effortless talent for writing catchy and honest songs. Also I love the dreamy guitars. Mmmm…
DJ Flugvél og Geimskip
She has been one of my favorite Icelandic alternative artists for many years. She’s coming out with a new album soon and she doesn’t play live that often so I would really like to catch her show.
Nolo
Also one of my favorite local bands. They just started playing with a live drummer and it’s pretty great. I always have great time at their shows.
Anna Von Hausswolff
I really like her ethereal, heavy sound. She also reminds me of Kate Bush, which is nice.
Empress Of
I don’t really know anything about her, my band mate Júlía told me to check her out and I really like her songs. So yes, I would like to see her.
