On January 18, one of Iceland’s more dutiful musicians’ unions, the
Icelandic Society of Authors and Composers, will host the third in their
‘Birdcage’ concert series. The series, which began in October, combines
older Icelandic musicians with relatively young ones in a set of songs
of their own choosing.
January’s combination is a particularly anticipated one, bringing
together pop-songwriting legend Magnús Kjartansson and affable,
blues-crooning airplay queen Lay Low in what is sure to be a
feelgood-fest for the masses.
