Some very thoughtful Icelanders will be hosting a Thanksgiving dinner downtown today, with after-dinner entertainment included.
Thanksgiving is not an Icelandic holiday, but that isn’t stopping this group from hosting one. Repeating an event they held last year, which was an apparent success, the group says they plan to have “turkey and everything that comes with it”. After the dinner, comedian and comic artist Hugleikur Dagsson will perform, followed by music from the band Langi Seli og Skuggarnir. Capping the night off will be famed DJ extraordinaire Andrea Jóns.
The event will take place at the club Boston, on Laugavegur, and begins at 19:00. It only costs 2,800 ISK, which includes dinner and dessert, and that’s probably more than you’d spend cooking Thanksgiving dinner for yourself. Plus you’ll be in great company.
