Essayist, humorist, musician and poet Bill Holm passed away Wednesday in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was 65 years old.
His most recent book was The Windows of Brimnes: An American in Iceland, but his writing history extends over many years of essays and poems, and was most recently honored by receiving McKnight’s 2008 Distinguished Artist award.
Known to many in the midwest as a quintessential Minnesotan, he often harkened to his Icelandic ancestry, and kept a summer cottage here.
