Those of you in Reykjavík who did not get the chance to see the Northern Lights dance in the sky last night will get a second chance tonight. And those of you who did, may have even better viewing conditions.
The Reykjavík City Council has decided to turn off the streetlights in four districts of the capital between 21:30 and 22:00 to make for better viewing conditions. The four districts included in the black-out are: Grafarholt, Breiðholt (Seljahverfi), Öskuhlíð and Skólavörðuholt.
The Northern Lights forecast is a level four on a nine-point scale, with nine being the best. So, if you’re in Reykjavík tonight, get out of your houses and look up at the heavens!
