Iceland’s only Dalmatian Sheep has been discovered on the farm Kaldárholt í Holtum, just outside of Rangárþing Ytra in Southern Iceland, Visír reports. This polka-dotted wonder belongs to sheep farmer Guðrún Laufey Magnúsdóttir who says that in her 44 years of farming, she has never seen a sheep like this.
In an exclusive interview with local journalist Magnús Hlynur Hreiðarsson, Guðrún said that while there are sheep of many colors in her flock, this black and white variety is very new. She currently owns two other sheep which are both black and white, but neither of these are spotted like the Dalmatian sheep. In addition to being unique for its spots, the Dalmatian is also rare in that its face is both black and white.
