During a spontaneous performance at ATP Iceland, Halli Valli of Æla ripped off his shirt to reveal a fairy princess dress. He and his elven bandmates performed out of a “borrowed” truck in between sets at Atlantic Studios.
During each of Æla’s performances, Halli says he likes to make a “feminist statement” by changing clothes mid-set, to show that different gender performances do not change the strength of the music.
Æla has been performing for ten years, since the band formed in 2003.
