Örlygur Hnefill Örlygsson, a guesthouse manager in Húsavík, wants to see a statue of American astronaut Neil Armstrong erected in the northern town, commemorating the space pioneers ties to area, Vísir reports.
Örlygur, who boasts an impressive collection of memorabilia left behind by NASA astronauts who spent time training in Iceland in 1965 through 1967, believes that it would be fitting for a statue of Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon, to grace the area. He also sees potential for space training related tours and activities in the area, further marking Húsavík as a centre of space exploration.
