Now that the snow has subsided in the capital area you may have noticed that the white stuff isn’t looking so white. According to meteorologists at the Icelandic Meteorological Office (IMO) this is all thanks to the winds that swept in from the East yesterday, carrying with them ash and dirt from Kirkjubæjarklaustur, RÚV reports.
While the IMO says that this amount of dirt hasn’t been common in the past, we can expect things to get better over the coming days, perhaps even seeing some sun on Sunday accompanied by light winds.
