A new survey conducted by Prósent indicates that a large majority of the public supports banning the sale of energy drinks to minors, RÚV reports.
Respondents in favour of a ban total 83 percent, with four percent opposing it. The support increases as the survey sample becomes older. People aged 18-24 are least likely to support the ban, while people aged 25-34 are most likely to oppose it.
Support for a ban increases in correlation with the number of children in a household.
Progressive Party and Liberal Reform voters show the highest amount of support, 89 percent and 92 percent respectively. Voters of the Independence Party and Centre Party indicate lower levels of support, 72 percent and 77 percent respectively.
