Three Icelandic artists have been confirmed to perform at the next South By Southwest festival. The festival takes place between March 7-16, 2025, in Austin, Texas.
Elín Hall, Lúpína and Sunna Margrét will all take to the stage at SXSW, representing Iceland’s diverse music scene.
SXSW is one of the world’s biggest showcase festivals, celebrating music, film, tech, education and culture. It is recognised as a seminal opportunity for burgeoning musicians.
In addition to the acts playing, Iceland Music will host events during the festival, building opportunities between Icelandic musicians and international music professionals.
In 2024, punk trio Gróa were set to perform, pulling out last minute in solidarity with Palestine. Due to military sponsorship of the festival, including contractors supplying weapons to the IDF, more than 100 confirmed artists and panellists cancelled their performances.
