Death Stranding, the long-awaited release from video game genius Hideo Kojima, could not more obviously take place in Iceland if it was called “Death Stranding In Iceland”.

Alert fans have long been aware of the hints, dropped by the master himself over a year ago. This moss pic prompted active speculators to immediately tout Iceland as the game’s world.

Which is wholly unsurprising, considering Hideo Kojima apparently paid a visit himself to our fair shores in 2014.

Now that the game is out, fans who have played the game have done more location comparisons further solidifying Iceland as the game’s setting.

Below you can check out some gameplay from Death Stranding, which will probably remove any doubt—if the game’s official page featuring a giant banner image of whales lying motionless on a black sand beach didn’t convince you already.
