It’s going to be a rainy and overcast rest of the week—all the more reason to enjoy a sunny weekend.

If you’ve got any indoor activities planned, Thursday would be a good time to do them, as there’ll be intermittent rain across most of the island, especially on the east coast and in the north, while the west coast will remain dryer but still overcast and relatively cool, with temperatures no higher than 12°C.

However, conditions will start to improve on Friday, with dry conditions across Iceland and patches of sun in the southwest especially, though the central and eastern regions will remain more overcast. Saturday looks even better, with full or partial sunshine across most of the island. Bright sun and gentle southerly winds in the west in particular will help bring temperatures up to 15°C in the capital area.

By Sunday however, rain will begin to creep in from the north, though the south coast will remain largely clear and sunny until Monday, where there’ll be cloud cover across the whole island, though no rain apart from a few isolated showers in the west.

As always, be sure and check both weather and road conditions before travelling.
