The Secret Solstice music festival is coming back, and this time, it will be under new management.

DV reports that the company Live Events ehf. will be organising and running the festival this year, in the wake of a debt settlement with the previous managers.

The new managing director of Secret Solstice is Víkingur Heiðar Arnórsson, who has extensive experience in the Icelandic music scene.

“It’s cause for celebration for music lovers everywhere that the future of the Secret Solstice festival has been ensured,” he told reporters. “The goal is to make a good festival even better and clear the way for a music festival that can work in Reykjavík going forward.”

Previously reported proposals to hold the festival at Klambratún have apparently been put on ice, as it will be held again in Laugardal. However, there will be some changes: the length of the festival will be shortened to three days, the price of tickets will be reduced, and each day’s events will wrap up by 23:30.

The festival itself will be held from June 21 to 23 of next year, so stay tuned for upcoming announcements on which acts will perform.
