From Iceland — Marshall House & Blue Lagoon Take Design Honours

Marshall House & Blue Lagoon Take Design Honours

Published November 10, 2017

Yesterday, to much fanfare, and a great Babies concert, the Icelandic design awards were handed out at the theatre Iðnó.

Awards were given in two categories: Icelandic design awards and best design investment.

The winner of the former was given to architecture firm Kurt og Pi for the multi-purpose art venue the Marshall House. Originally built as a place to work herring it now houses the Museum of Modern Art, the gallery Kling og Bang, Ólafur Elíasson’s atelier and workspace, as well as the Marshall Restaurant + Bar.

In the category of best design investment the winner was the ever hot (get it?) Blue Lagoon.

Congratulations designers.
