Iceland’s national football team is engaged in more than just smiting – they also want you to support children’s rights.

The campaign, with the support of the Icelandic national football team, hopes to drum up support for UNICEF by encouraging people to sign up to be a global parent. In this capacity, global parents donate a small amount of money each month to help bring food, vaccinations, and other essentials to children in need around the world.

The campaign itself is a part of #teamUNICEF, an international effort of athletes from around the world to support UNICEF.

The Icelandic national football team has been actively involved in charity and relief efforts in the past. Most recently, they took part in fight against ebola, and also helped raise money when Typhoon Haiyan struck the Philippines in 2013.
