This Saturday marks the first anniversary of the Free The Nipple campaign in Iceland, which will be kicked off with style.

In honour of the occasion, a special celebration has been organised at the Laugardalslaug pool, this Saturday, from 13:00 to 16:00. Prospective attendees are given the freedom to choose if they participate topless, or keep their nipples covered.

The Free The Nipple campaign last year raised some 224,500 ISK for the rape crisis prevention centre Stígamót, organisers say, but the fight is still far from over.

“It is therefore a long time coming that we join hands again and fight against pornification and injustice,” the organisers write. “By refusing to hide their breasts, women strike a blow against revenge porn by taking this disgusting tool of oppression out of the hands of predatory men.”

All are welcome to the event, and the only cost is for the regular price of admission to the pool.
