Permission has been granted for explosives to be set off in Iceland during the filming of Fast & Furious 8.

RÚV reports that the producers of Fast & Furious 8, which will be filmed in part in Iceland, have been granted permission to set off explosions at Langavatn lake. These explosions will kill some of the fish therein, but this and other environmental effects are considered safe and temporary.

Film crews are already positioned at Mývatn, in north Iceland, to begin shooting the car racing film. This includes, as could be imagined, a great deal of vehicles of many types.

As reported, filming of the next installment in the car racing franchise is set to begin next month. Eager fans can now rest assured that explosions will be featured in this movie.
