This weekend was the space enthusiast’s wet dream as Icelandic skies were painted with ethereal northern lights.

Photographer Art Bicnick, who remains as enthusiastic about documenting Iceland come snowpocalypse or northern light-shine, captured the aurora borealis and the stars in all their magnificence. Thank you Art, for your art.

EDITED: In the original version of this news story, there was a section on meteors as it was believed that the film included images from this weekend’s annual Geminids meteor shower, however this was not the case. It is good old fashion camera work that lends the illusion of a sky filled with “shooting stars”. This news item has been updated to reflect this information.
