The Swiss Are Biggest Spenders

Travellers spent roughly 6.7 billion ISK on goods and services in Iceland this April and the Swiss spent the most, reports RÚV

The biggest expense for most tourists was accomodation which added up to 1.2 billion ISK in all. 

On average each tourist spent roughly 112.000 ISK which is comparable to what tourists spent on average in the same period last year. 

The Swiss spent the most, however. Swiss nationals on average spent 314.000 ISK during their visits, Russians came second with 213.000 ISK on average and Spaniards third with 168.000 ISK. 

Polish tourists spent the least during their visits, on average 33.000 ISK.
