Pollapönk stole the show at the Eurovision Opening Ceremony in Copenhagen yesterday when they turned up on the red carpet in colourful dresses, reports RÚV.
The dresses were a statement against the mistreatment of women. Arnar Gíslason, drummer (pink dress) told press that wage inequality should not be tolerated any longer and his brother and fellow band member, Haraldur (red dress) said that women had fought hard to wear trousers and they wanted to fight to remove the stigma around men wearing women’s clothes.
The band will perform their song “No Prejudice” in the first semi-final tomorrow though the odds don’t favour Iceland’s contestants.
