Icelanders will no longer be able to enjoy free delivery from Amazon.

RÚV reports that Icelanders have for a long time been able to order goods from Amazon.com without delivery costs, provided they spent more than 25 GBP (5,000 ISK).

However, Amazon has changed their policies. Icelanders will now have to pay delivery charges, which will be organised in two categories – standard delivery and express.

The news may come as a disappointment to those Icelanders who have ordered books or other items unavailable in Iceland for the asking price. How or if this will affect customs charges for imported items remains to be seen.
