Coastal Fishing Makes Big Money

Coastal fishing has earned 1.6 billion ISK for ship owners so far this year, with 6,000 tonnes of fish being caught as of last week.
RÚV reports that 657 ships have been fishing along Iceland’s coast this summer, catching an average of 515 kg each. Cod has been the most commonly caught fish, accounting for 5,580 of the 6,000 tonnes caught.
