Debate on Fishing Fee Lasted 22 Hours

Althingi convened to debate the revocation of the fishing fees charged to ship owners for their right to fish yesterday and the discussion lasted 22 hours.
The length of the debate makes it the longest of the summer session, RÚV reports, with the recent debate on the national broadcaster running second longest, at 13 hours.
In the 19 days that Althingi has been in session this season 24 meetings have been held, totaling 144 hours and 24 minutes.
