Champions Of Bridge And Bus Driving

It was a big weekend for Icelandic bridge players and bus drivers as representatives of both won Nordic championship titles in their respective fields.
On Saturday, a team of six bus drivers representing Iceland won the annual Nordic Bus Driving Competition, which has been held since 1976, RÚV reports. The competition consists of various obstacle courses and challenges which test bus driving precision and alertness.
The scoring is based on a penalty point system and the Icelandic team received the fewest with 9 540 penalty points. Meanwhile the Finns came in close second with 10 900 and the Norwegians in third with 12 752.
On Sunday evening, the Icelandic male bridge team won the Nordic Bridge Championships with 137 points, beating the Danes who came in second with 129 points, RÚV reports. The women’s team finished in fourth place behind the Danes, Norwegian and Swedes.
The next Nordic Bridge Championships will be held on the Faroe Islands in two years time.
