A music festival bringing together musicians from Seattle and Iceland celebrates its second year today.
Seattle and Reykjavík have been sister cities for 25 years now and, just as last year, this will be celebrated by pairing up musicians from Iceland, Greenland and the Faeroe Islands with acts from Seattle, where the festival takes place.
Hlynur Guðjónsson, the Consul and Trade Commissioner for the Consulate General of Iceland, said, “At Reykjavík Calling we share the stage with some great Seattle artists before an audience with the same love of music as Icelanders.”
In the video below, Seattle’s own Sean Nelson and Kyle O’Quin and Icelandic singer-songwriter Snorri Helgason give a preview of the concert, with a performance of “The Space Between the Moon”:
