So it turns out Iceland is experiencing a rare heat-wave, intent on making life even more miserable for us office workers, as we gaze out the window to witness happy-go-lucky tourists and the willfully unemployed wander about, pleasantly taking in the rare bout of sunshine – cold beer in hand.
At the time of writing, Reykjavík temperature is around 15°C, although it gets much hotter if you’re standing in some unfiltered sunlight. This weekend, the temperature went up to 20°C in some places around the country. This is really freaking hot, people, so be sure to appreciate it as best you can. Call in sick and wander the streets, quit your job and go swimming.
This is your opportunity to be delightfully irresponsible, so use it.
By the by, this current stretch of tropicalia is expected to last until weekend, at least, so if you’re spending your time in some other country, why not book a flight with the good people of recently nationalized airline Icelandair?
