Fancies is a Grapevine series where we highlight an individual with supreme style.
This time, we’ve teamed up with Icewear to show off some of their best wares.

the look

We sent Kristbjörg Lára Gunnarsdóttir, the singer of Mojodontgo, to Icewear HQ to pick out some pieces she loves and show us how she’d style them.

Kristbjörg is wearing:

style q&a

Why did you choose these two pieces?: The yellow coat is classic while also daring. You can be seen from so far away. It also matches well with my blue hair. I love pairing bright primary colours together and being editorial and contemporary with them, which I’m doing here with the yellow, red, and blue.

I picked the blanket, which I am using as a scarf, because big scarfs are so important. When you’re cold, the neck and chest need to be warm because then the chest will pump hot blood into your body. It’s necessary.

What else would you wear them with?: I could genuinely see myself in any situation wearing this jacket. Definitely out in the rain, number one, but if I was just going downtown or even to a fashion show, I could wear it. Be in this coat with a tube dress underneath and some high heels and now you’re looking really cosmopolitan.

But raincoats, of course, are especially necessary in Iceland, where the weather is changing every five minutes, Yesterday, the weather was awful and I was performing. I didn’t wear my raincoat to the show and I was just walking there thinking, “I should have brought my raincoat!”

Lusting after for winter: The colour green. It’s coming back. Black and green together is great right now. It’s a nice reference to cyberpunk and all of that. But I am really excited for 2019 fashion; it’s very mysterious.
