Sequences Festival turns ten! Since 2006 Sequences Art Festival has provided ten-days of visual arts with a special focus on time-based mediums: performances, sound works, videos, public displays and so forth.
The seventh edition of the festival explores our inner- and under-workings with the theme “plumbing.” They’re looking at DIY-culture, body visualization, and the dynamic possibilities of media which embraces amateurism, improvisation, “glitch” aesthetics and bottom-up creative initiative.
The ten-day festival closes on Saturday with remarks by next year’s newly appointed curator, Margot Norton, followed by David Horvitz’s piece Let Us Keep Our Own Noon. We’ll keep noon at 13:13 this day before gathering round the festival’s (possibly) first cake-based piece; a birthday cake. The afternoon will close at Mengi with an open sculpture tournament hosted by Rebecca Moran and “moods for listening and relaxation” by DJ Emotions (Ragnar Kjartansson).
