One warning: Strákarnir Okkar, the film, is set in the 1980s. If you have any nostalgia at all for the 80s hard rock scene, you will love the opening tracks in this collaboration between Mínus and Bang Gang’s Barði Jóhannsson. Even the recording techniques, excessively clean, with drums that sound like they were recorded in a vacuum, is nostalgic. The album peaks at track six, Don’t Hold Back, which could start a movement towards post-ironic retro-80s metal. From there, it dies off, making the whole disk feel like a good-hearted but incomplete EP.
