Borgarnes International Puppetry Festival
At the end of this fabulous month, Borgarnes, the capital of vast, sprawling Gunnars donut empire, will be host to the first annual Borgarnes International Puppet Festival. The first year will see performances from puppeteers of Danish, Finnish, Swedish and French origin, as well as showcasing the puppetry documentary ‘Strings’. The work of one of northern Europe’s finest puppeteers, Swede Michael Meschke, will be the focus of the festival, but the four-day festival promises a wide variety of puppet-related events and hi-jinks. Also, try the donuts. They are delicious.
When: March 31 – April 3
Where: Brúðuheimar, 310 Borgarnes
