It would seem that living in a country with long, dark winters does not guarantee any proficiency driving in winter weather, as eight cars were involved in collisions around the city within a ten-minute span this morning.
As Reykjavík saw some light flurries falling during the morning rush hour between, four cars collided in Breiðholt, one was involved in an accident in Hafnarfjörður, and three cars crashed into one another on Lækjargata, mbl.is reports. No injuries were reported, though two of the vehicles were quite damaged.
As it’s only February and this wet, wintry weather is likely to continue, drivers are advised to take extra care on the roads.
