From Iceland — Icelanders LOVE Their Easter Chocolates

Icelanders LOVE Their Easter Chocolates

Published March 25, 2013

The folks over at Nói Síríus are working around the clock in these final days before Easter to guarantee that Icelanders can get their fill of the chocolaty eggs stuffed with candy.
Auðjón Guðmundsson, with Nói Síríus, tells mbl.is that the company first starts receiving requests for the chocolate Easter eggs after Christmas, and they begin production at that time, but they still have to be working day and night to keep up with the demands from shops in the days ahead of Easter.
Nói Síríus will produce 600,000 Easter eggs large and small this year, but when you consider that there are a couple other companies making chocolate Easter eggs in Iceland, consumption of the holiday treat is much closer to 1 million.
