On August 19, the offices of the Reykjavík International Film Festival (RIFF) were broken into and several items were stolen.
RIFF reported the incident on their Facebook page on August 21, asking the public to notify the organisation about any suspicious activity near their office on Tryggvagata.
The burglars managed to loot high-value items such as a projector, a Bluetooth speaker, and the office’s smartphone. Operating as a non-profit organisation, RIFF describe the loss as a significant blow to their operations.
Any relevant information should be directed to RIFF via their email riff@riff.is. The festival will see its 22nd iteration between September 25 and October 5, 2025.
