In light of allegations of abuse against Une Misère frontman and now-former radio host Jón Már Ásbjörnsson, the band posted a brief announcement on Facebook saying that he has been fired from the band.

The statement itself is a single sentence, saying simply: “In light of the accusations that have come forward, Jón Már has been relieved from the band.”

As reported, Jón Már was fired from his job hosting the radio show Séra Jón on station X-ið 97.7 last Thursday. This was done following numerous messages sent to the management at Sýn, the company which manages 97.7, recounting abuse from Jón Már.

That said, numerous Icelanders responded to this news by stating that the band was made aware of these accusations months before the matter made its way into the media.

Jón Már himself has not as yet made any public statement on the matter.
