As first reported by MBL, this was confirmed by Þórhallur Gunnarsson, the managing director of Sýn, the company which manages 97.7.

DV reports further that this decision was taken following numerous allegations made by survivors to the management at Sýn. A message to DV contends Jón Már has been accused of psychological abuse.

Further reporting from Vísir confirms that this firing took place last Thursday.

More details are not forthcoming at the time of this writing. Updates will be provided as they arise.
