Six rainbow flags were hoisted up in the parking lot of the company Advania in Reykjavík—directly across the street from where Mike Pence will visit.

The event did not go unnoticed on Icelandic social media, as Icelanders have been sharing photos they took of the event and praising the company. As reported, US Vice President Mike Pence will be visiting the famed Höfði house, where Reagan and Gorbachev once held their summit, which is located directly across the street from Advania.

The Grapevine contacted Advania in Iceland about the matter, and spoke with the company’s media representative, Þóra Tómasdóttir.

“This wasn’t a decision made by any one person,” she told us. “Rather, we decided as a group that today would be a good day to celebrate diversity.”

Icelanders have been responding to this in very positive tones, as can be seen by the numerous embedded Facebook posts below.

UPDATE: The labour union Efling, which is also located near Höfði, have also raised the Pride flags at their offices.
