Capri Suns Found To Have Alcohol In Them, Pulled From Shelves

Published August 27, 2019

Some packets of Capri Sun from a local Hagkaup have been found to have alcohol in them, Vísir reports, prompting the product to be pulled from the shelves.

The matter was first brought up in a closed Facebook group specifically for residents of the east Reykjavík community of Grafarvogur. The revelation has sparked a swift response.

Svanberg Halldórsson, the manager of operations for Hagkaup, told reporters that he received news of the situation last night. After speaking with the manager of the store, they have decided to investigate the matter further, and in the meantime have pulled the product from the shelves.

It is unknown if the drinks have been tampered with, or if the product itself spoiled and subsequently fermented within its packaging. More developments on the matter are still pending.
