Well, not literally, but she is going to remake the Icelandic film ‘Kona fer í stríð’ (‘A Woman Goes To War,’ in English).

According to Deadline, Foster is going to direct the movie, also starring as the main character, Halla, who Halldóra Geirharðsdóttir plays brilliantly in the Icelandic version.

‘A Woman Goes To War’ is about an environmental visionary/terrorist who has to choose between her radical lifestyle as a nature conservation activist, or as the foster mother of an adopted child from Ukraine. The movie is Iceland’s contribution to the Oscar Awards this year.

The film was directed by the talented actor and director Benedikt Erlingsson, who won the Nordic Council Film Prize this year for the movie. It was his second time winning the prize; the first was in 2013 for his notable movie ‘Of Horses And Men.’

Benedikt wrote on his Facebook page that he was first captivated by Jodie Foster when he saw her in the movie ‘Bugsy Malone’ when he was a child. He adds that no one would be better for this role than Foster.
