According to vedur.is, a windstorm is about to hit the southwestern corner of Iceland, which is, somewhat inconveniently for us at the Grapevine, where Reykjavík is located.

The weather service has issued a yellow alert across large parts of coastal Iceland, warning about “Southeast winds of 18-25 metres per second with sleet and later rain.” People are advised to “secure their neighbourhood and show caution.” As always, this means taking care when travelling by car, especially on windswept roads outside of the city. It also means securing garden furniture, trampolines, and other objects that could catch the wind and become hazardous.

As is a weather report tradition here at Grapevine, we’d also like to recommend what’s new on Netflix, seeing as most of us are going to be stuck indoors eating pasta this evening. Today’s recommendation is Narcos Mexico, which we’re pleased to say picks up where the epic last season left off, despite a complete change of cast, with a thrilling look at the origins of the modern day US drug war. Enjoy!
