The American tourist who we reported earlier today was missing has possibly been found deceased.

Just past 15:00 today the police in the south of Iceland sent out a statement in which they claimed to have found the body of a man. He was found near the by the plane wreck on Sólheimasandur.

His body has been flown to Reykjavík where a forensics team will attempt to verify his identity.
