No topic blew up Twitter in the UK quite like Iceland’s crushing defeat of England in the UEFA Euros earlier this year.

BBC reports that 128,000 tweets per minute were fired off in the wake of the match.

On a global scale, Rio2016, Election2016 and PokemonGo topped the world’s most tweeted subjects.

Iceland defeating England came as a great surprise to the English, and led to England’s coach, Roy Hodgson, resigning from his post.
