There will be bus service in effect this Christmas and New Year’s, albeit to a limited capacity.

Vísir reports that buses in the capital area will be running on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve until 15:00. In addition, buses will be running on a “Sunday schedule” – every half an hour – on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

It should also be pointed out that bus lines #2, 3, 4, 5, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 18, 24, 28 and 35 will be running every half an hour between 12:00 and 15:00 on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. This scheduling is currently not in the posted in the time tables.

If you happen to be taking the bus on these days in the hopes of doing some dining or shopping, you would do well to refer to Grapevine’s handy opening hours guide for the holidays.
