The WOW Cyclothon bicycle race circling Iceland has kicked off again, and this year is raising funds for an addition to a mental hospital.

The race, which began today, is a non-stop relay race over Iceland’s Ring Road, the highway circling the country, covering 1,358 kilometres.

According to the competition’s Facebook page, all proceeds will go towards the construction of a recovery centre for the mental hospital Kleppsspítali in Reykjavík. Over 5 million ISK has already been raised at the time of this writing.

The race will last for the next 72 hours, and you can follow the events on Facebook and Twitter. Below, you can watch highlights from last year’s competition, which raised money for Landspítali national hospital.
