Sigurður Bjarnason, a 99 year old man who recently moved into Sólvellir retirement home has become a planking advocate, reports Vísir.

“Well the women [who live at the retirement home] were doing their work outs. They were all sitting in chairs and the trainer came around to show them some moves, including [planking]” said Sigurður of how he began planking in the first place. “I challenge you to do it, she said to me and I accepted that challenge because I believed I could.”

Sigurður now planks every day and he’s clearly got his core on lock because he only just started last week and he’s already more advanced than many half his age.

In fact it is pretty incredible that Sigurður remains this athletic and healthy as he approaches 100 years of age.

“Yeah, I’m not sure what qualifies as healthy, but yes, yes, I am definitely pleased with myself,” Sigurður humblebragged.

Sigurður will turn 100 on January 1, 2016 and plans to keep planking and showing people how badass is done.
